Roomba 670 vs 675 (Which Is Better?)

Let’s compare these two Roomba vacuum cleaners and see which one is better between the Roomba 670 vs 675.

Both robotic vacuum cleaners are from the same company, Roomba, so there are bound to be similarities.

However, we’re after what differentiates or makes one better over the other. What features make one Roomba vacuum cleaner superior to the other in this comparison. That’s what we’re after.

Anyway, let’s get going.

Roomba 670 vs 675 : Robot Vacuum Cleaner Comparison

All robots have the basic features to make them operate and clean. A few basic features are batteries or extractor bars, for example.

A Roomba 670 or 675 battery can run for up to 90 minutes when equipped with 1800mAh cells. It will take about 30 minutes less to clean carpets than hard floors if there is more carpet than hard floors.

They will return to the charging station when the batteries get low. After the charge cycle has been completed, they won’t continue cleaning themselves. Both robots do not have mapping capabilities, so they would not be able to know where to go back even if they were able to.

Similarly, you will find that hair or strings can get twisted around the wheels. Taking regular maintenance steps should prevent this from happening. Robots are powered by their rear wheels, which will eventually break down.

Whenever necessary, a new wheel can be put on by removing each one, replacing the motor, and fitting it with the new wheel. Thus, wheels and batteries are not covered by warranties.

When moving around your house, iAdapt uses two different types of sensors. As the robot speeds along, the bump sensors detect and alert it of any obstacles it encounters. If the robot cannot pass an obstacle, it slows down and bumps into it.

It’s a double-duty sensor. To begin with, you need to look for any drops, ledges, or edges longer than half an inch. Robots stop and change course when they are detected. Secondly, we examine whether the area was actually cleaned.

As a result, the robots will circle the area one more time when they detect that the area has not been cleaned well.

This model does not have a camera. These features are added later to the robots of the 980 series. The iAdapt 2.0 feature on these robots allows them to map your home and resume cleaning once they are recharged again. 

It does not know where it has been or what may remain after charging cycles since the 670 and 675 do not provide a map of your home.

Also updated is AeroForce, which replaced AeroVac. The 600 series have a great feature called AeroVac. Suction, filtration, and collection are accomplished by different parts working together.

In the suction phase of extraction, two rollers finish the process. By engaging the roller, debris is captured, lifted, and collected in a chamber, where it is vacuumed away. The brush roller is protected from debris by paddled rubber rollers.

Though these methods are not the best available, their use is still justified for the purposes for which they were designed. As with extraction, filtration isn’t the best in the market.

AeroVac does not come with HEPA filters. This filter will capture particles and debris of approximately 10 microns. Allergens and bacteria can still be found in the air of the home. It’s best to use an 800-series robot or a recent model of the robot if you want HEPA-rated filters.

Roomba’s two robots can be controlled in a variety of ways. As a first step, there are local controls. They don’t take any special tools to operate, other than a finger or two for pushing. It will be sent on its way to perform a cleaning cycle once the “Clean” button is pressed.

In addition, the robot can be sent back to the charging station or sanitized. An area measuring 3 feet in diameter is spiraled over in order to clean it in detail.

Each model uses WiFi to communicate and allows you to control more variables; however, both models are wireless. iRobot Home gives you the option to name your robot, create cleaning schedules, and view different information about it including battery usage and charging time. Apps are the best way to control the system. It is only possible to use the local controls if you do not have a wireless network at home.

As a final feature, voices can be controlled. Using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant devices, you can access cleaning cycles via WiFi once set up. However, the basic functionality is still limited, even with the voice controls.

There is virtually no containment option available for these models. Each robot can work with either the single-mode or dual-mode virtual wall barriers. The dual-mode barriers are a good alternative to digital containment such as that included in the newest Roomba models.

These barriers are not included with the Roomba 675 or 670. You receive only the robots, charging stations, and cleaning tools from an entry-level robot if you do not buy an expansion kit.

Physical barriers can be used instead of towers. A pair of large shoes or a pair of weighted pool noodles would work well. To prevent the machines from running into Butch’s water bowl or hitting the Christmas tree, it is recommended that you buy a two-pack of barriers along with your robot.

It is common to see videos where a complex environment and a specific amount of food are presented to the robot in a controlled environment.

Some owners will have the most difficulty with the carpeting. If, for example, your home is carpeted, you can bid farewell to 90 minutes of continuous play. A 45-minute appointment is more likely to happen than not. Although this isn’t awful, cleaning will have to be done more frequently.

This will benefit carpets with a low pile and tight weave. Despite the comprehensive examination, results will vary for medium and high-pile carpets. You can expect hit or miss results if you have thrown rugs or area rugs as carpeting.

There may be floor transitions that the robot cannot get on rugs due to their height. However, it will take some time to find the right approach. The majority of rugs won’t have a problem, but thicker rugs may not be able to handle this.

These robots will benefit hard flooring the most. Even so, debris is left at the corners when they go along edges. However, the shape of the brush and the side brushes prevent the corners from being completely cleaned.

However, the majority of hard floors can be cleaned with only one pass over the upright vacuum, sufficing to keep it in the closet for another week or two. Even so, a Braava 380t is there for mopping.

Hard flooring has been scratched by the 670 and 675 on a few occasions. This is rare, but should be noted. You may see scratches or minor marks on soft floors, like pine, or sealed surfaces after repeated runs.

You can’t beat the Roomba 675 or 670 when it comes to pet hair. Pet hair, however, can be quite a nuisance. All of it is willing to be picked up, and the robot has the capability to do so. But it will require some assistance from you.

To keep your roller in top condition, you have to keep the bristles clean to keep pet hair from clinging to them. Initially, you will have to stop a cycle midway to clean the brush roller if you get the robot for the first time. You may get tired of it.

In the weeks and months following their initial use, you will no longer have to clean the rollers as often. The frequency of your visits can be reduced over time to once a week or less. There is a limit to how much a pet will shed, however.
